The Dallas office of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC (Berkadia) today announced the hiring of Joseph N. Hevey, Jr. as a senior vice president with the company’s loan originations division. With 30 years of industry experience, Hevey will assist in arranging debt and equity on income-producing real estate investments. He reports to Senior Vice President John V. Koeijmans, effective June 18, 2012.
“Joe is very knowledgeable and has built an outstanding reputation over his 30 years in the mortgage banking business,” said Koeijmans. “He will be a valuable asset to the Berkadia community and we are extremely pleased to have him on our team.”
Most recently, Hevey served as managing director for Cohen Financial, a real estate investment banking firm with headquarters in Chicago. There he was responsible for the origination, analysis, and placement of real estate debt and equity throughout the United States. Prior to that, Hevey served 14 years as managing director at mortgage banking firm HFF LP. Hevey is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and International Council of Shopping Centers.
“I am extremely pleased to join Berkadia’s Dallas team, as their platform is one of the best in the industry” said Hevey. “They have the appropriate tools in place to better serve my borrower clients' capital markets needs, while providing enhanced product flow for my lender clients.”
Hevey is a licensed Texas real estate broker.
