The Opportunity

Berkadia is redefining the Commercial Real Estate industry, and we are looking for a proven Sr. System Engineer to join our team. The individual selected will support Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure with expertise in the development, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of our cloud-based solutions as well, as the support and maintenance of our on-premises systems. The ideal candidate is experienced in cloud-based tech, with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. From day one, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth.

What someone will need to be successful in this role

  • Strong demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer supporting DevOps
  • Well-developed experience designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS and/or Azure platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation
  • Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected frameworks
  • Knowledge of Cloud Operations Support Model
  • Knowledge on AWS services including VPC, IAM, EC2, RDS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, RDS, Lambda.

Nice to Have

  • Some working knowledge of databases and SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • Familiar working in a Command Line Linux Environment

Responsibilities

  • Ability to design and build CI/CD pipelines for business-critical enterprise applications.
  • Responsible for reviewing design, building and supporting highly redundant, available, secure and scalable Cloud applications and solutions using IaC and DevOps best practices.
  • Design, automate and support CI/CD stack, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and logging.
  • Participate in architecture design and implementation of infrastructure monitoring, security, and scaling solutions.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for AWS and Azure solutions, including architecture, design, building, and testing, trouble shooting, and quality assurance.
  • Design, build and Implement OS virtualization and containerization technologies such as Docker, Containers and Kubernetes
  • Build and deploy AWS solutions like EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, Elastic Beanstalk, Elastic Load Balancer, Auto scaling groups etc. using Terraform.
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.
  • Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
  • Proactive, able to prioritize, demonstrating excellent communication skills with technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Implement Infrastructure automation using Terraform to provision components in the cloud.
  • Provide requirements from developers and researchers to lay the groundwork for technical breakthroughs at the company.
  • Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they
  • Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs.
