Cody is a Managing Director and a founding member of Berkadia’s JV Equity & Structured Capital. Cody brings with him a vast career in finance and development, and he leads the team’s unique equity focused strategy as Head of Western U.S. His skillset in equity capital raising has allowed him to leverage extensive relationships with a variety of domestic and international capital sources ranging from family offices to large institutions. He plays an integral role as part of Berkadia and has been instrumental to the team’s rapid growth. He has spent over a decade building relationships with some of the top real estate owners and capital partners in the United States. In a short timeframe, Cody has been nationally recognized as one of the most trusted equity experts for experienced owner/operators and capital partners across the U.S.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Cody started his career at Vail Resorts Development Company, later Cody joined his partners Noam Franklin and Chinmay Bhatt in 2016 at Central Park Capital Partners to expand the company’s capital relationships and geographic reach to the West Coast. After building a successful capital advisory platform, Cody and his partners sold their company to Berkadia in 2019 to create the Berkadia solution, JV Equity & Structured Capital.
Cody and his two partners, Chinmay Bhatt and Noam Franklin, have capitalized over $6 billion across more than 110 property transactions, which comprises of over 23,000 multifamily/build-for-rent units and student housing beds across 22 states since launching in 2019.
