Today, we are spotlighting a variety of individuals who have been with Berkadia for over 15 years (before it was even Berkadia!) and encompass our numerous business lines. We sat down with Product Manager Fehran Coleman, Vice President of Senior Paralegal Servicing Catherine Millspaugh, Senior Managing Director Allan Freedman of Berkadia Los Angeles, and Senior Managing Director Bob Falese of Berkadia Philadelphia.
Q: What is the most significant change you’ve witnessed at Berkadia?
Fehran Coleman: The most significant change I’ve witnessed throughout Berkadia’s evolution is the tremendous pride employees take in being a Berkadian, the genuine efforts to work with integrity, and an outward mindset. These principles have truly made Berkadia a great place to grow a career with caring, like-minded coworkers.
Allan Freedman: Berkadia recognized the immense value of the Fannie Mae business and strategically restructured their internal program, propelling their ranking from #14 to an impressive #2. Additionally, we were the #1 GSE lender in the country in 2023.
Q: What achievement are you most proud of during your time at Berkadia?
Bob Falese: As Branch Manager of the Philadelphia Mortgage Banking office for the past 11 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with an incredible group of people whose dedication and hard work keep us as one of the top-producing offices. We continuously leverage our industry expertise and innovative tools to deliver insightful advice and exceptional service, always aiming to exceed client expectations and build long-lasting relationships.
Q: What does Berkadia’s 15th anniversary mean to you?
Catherine Millspaugh: Celebrating the 15th anniversary reminds me that Berkadia was established on a solid foundation of strong leadership and committed employees, enabling us to embrace potential growth opportunities. Our reputation for excellence and continued innovation gives us unlimited potential for future growth.
Fehran Coleman: To me, Berkadia’s 15th anniversary is a testament that even though change and uncertainty can be difficult in the moment, eventually there will be a breakthrough of success, achievement, growth, and resiliency!
Q: In what ways has Berkadia adapted to industry changes over the past 15 years?
Allan Freedman: Berkadia’s focus on advancing technology has been a significant driver of growth, revolutionizing both my business and the company’s success.
Catherine Millspaugh: One key has been Berkadia’s willingness to spend the capital to innovate. Berkadia is on the forefront of utilizing cutting edge technology to make our processes more efficient and to help give our client’s more tools to enhance their knowledge of the market and help them navigate their own loans.
Q: What do you believe has been the key to Berkadia’s success and longevity?
