Shawn Lubic serves as a Director for Berkadia Student Housing Investment Sales. With over 30 years of experience, Shawn has developed a robust expertise in valuation and investment sales.
Shawn began his career in 1994 at The Hanford Healy Companies in San Francisco, where he specialized in valuing commercial real estate for the company’s appraisal and asset management departments. His early career laid a strong foundation in financial analysis and commercial appraisal, which he continued to build upon after returning to Philadelphia. In 2002, Shawn transitioned into investment sales by joining GMH Capital Partners. During his tenure from 2002 to 2008, he successfully sold a diverse array of properties nationwide, including retail, market rate multifamily, student housing, industrial, and office products. Following his time at GMH, Shawn became an investment sales broker with Professional Realty Advisors, a boutique commercial sales platform based in the Philadelphia metro area. Prior to his current role at Berkadia, Shawn spent six years with Cushman & Wakefield as part of their national student housing team. There, he focused on the sale and recapitalization of off-campus, purpose-built student housing and development land, further honing his specialization in the student housing sector.
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in biology from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and a certificate of Hotel Investment and Asset Management from Cornell University. He also has completed additional commercial real estate coursework from The Appraisal Institute, The CCIM Institute, Temple University and the ICSC University of Shopping Centers.
