Berkadia FHA/HUD Closes $573.4M in Financing in the First Half of 2025

New York, New York – July 21, 2025 – Berkadia, a distinguished leader in the commercial real estate sector, is pleased to announce that its FHA/HUD platform has closed $573.4 million in financing across 26 deals in 2025 thus far.

This milestone includes 15 multifamily transactions totaling $450.5 million across 2,333 units, and LEAN healthcare transactions totaling 11 deals worth $122.9 million for 977 units. HUD production has increased substantially in the first half of 2025 compared to recent years’ loan origination.

A few notable transactions from first half of the year include:

  • Westminster Towers, located at 1112 7th Street, Santa Monica, California. Built in 1969, the affordable housing project features 285 units. Berkadia FHA/HUD secured $70.6M in construction and permanent financing through HUD’s 221(d)(4) Program.
  • Englewood Multifamily, located in the Chosewood Park neighborhood of southeast Atlanta, Georgia. The 37-acre development plan will include residential (single and multifamily), commercial, retail, institutional, and recreational uses. Berkadia’s FHA/HUD team secured $28.3 million in financing on behalf of The Benoit Group (TBG) and The Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta (AHA) through HUD’s 221(d)(4) program.
  • Four Seniors Housing Communities, located in Hawaii, Texas, and Washington. The loans were secured through HUD’s 232/223(f) program totaling $64.4 million in aggregate proceeds.
