At Berkadia, our success is built upon the talent and hard work of a broad, diversely skilled team. From analysts to loan closing specialists to managing directors each of our people brings a unique background, perspective and expertise. Their work allows Berkadia to remain a leader in the commercial real estate industry.
Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Senior Director of Technical Program Management, Greg Foley, to learn more about his role at Berkadia, what part of his role he is most passionate about, and how Berkadia has impacted his personal and professional life.

Describe your role at Berkadia
As the Senior Director of Technical Program Management, I oversee and coordinate a diverse array of projects and strategic initiatives within Enterprise Technology Services. My primary focus is on ensuring seamless integration and execution across all technical endeavors, driving innovation, and aligning our efforts with the overarching goals of the organization.
I am dedicated to fostering collaboration and optimizing processes to deliver impactful results that propel our technological capabilities forward. By facilitating integration across teams, I ensure that our projects not only meet but exceed expectations.
In addition to program management, I also manage the budget for Enterprise Technology Services and oversee our Learning and Development program. This aspect of my role ensures that resources are allocated effectively, supporting both immediate project needs and long-term growth through continuous learning opportunities.
Through these efforts, I aim to be a catalyst for progress, steering our organization towards a future of technological excellence and strategic success.
What part of your role are you most passionate about?
What I am most passionate about in my role is helping people realize their full potential. I believe that many individuals limit themselves due to a fear of failure. My mission is to inspire and support them in overcoming these barriers, encouraging them to embrace challenges and pursue growth.
By fostering a culture of learning, confidence, and resilience, I aim to unlock their capabilities and drive them toward achieving their aspirations.
What excites you most about commercial real estate?
What excites me most about commercial real estate is the transformative power of technology, particularly AI. It is exhilarating to witness how AI is reshaping the industry, driving innovation and efficiency. We find ourselves in a dynamic race against time and competitors, striving to lead the charge in technological advancements. This pursuit not only challenges us but also inspires us to redefine the future of commercial real estate.
What advice would you give to a younger version of yourself coming into the commercial real estate industry and what is the best piece of advice you have received?
The advice I would give to myself, which aligns with one of our Innovation Pillars, is, “Try something and do not be afraid to fail, but learn from your mistakes to do better the next time.”
The best piece of advice I have received is, “Challenge the Status Quo” – It takes courage to defy the norm, but that is what leads to innovation and meaningful change.
When you’re not helping Berkadia move the industry forward, how do you spend your time?
I have a few ways I spend my time outside of work. The first would be any activity involving sports. Whether I am cheering on my favorite New York sports team or my alma mater (Go Villanova!), coaching my daughter’s sports teams, or just playing for fun (Did you know there is a Berkadia Soccer Club?!?), you can always find me involved in something competitive.
The most important passion I have, near and dear to my family’s heart, is finding a cure for Rett Syndrome. My wife and I have two daughters, Molly and Lacey. Molly was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome 10 years ago. Rett Syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that primarily affects girls and leads to severe cognitive and physical impairments. We started Miracle for Molly 10 years ago and have just surpassed $1,000,000 raised for the Rett Syndrome Research Trust with the goal of finding therapies and a cure for Rett Syndrome.
What is amazing is the love and support from so many of our Berkadia family who learned about Molly and helped us raise funds and awareness every year for such a challenging disorder. We look forward to the day that Rett Syndrome is history.
How has your time at Berkadia helped to accelerate your personal and professional development?
When I started at Berkadia in 2014, I had no idea the journey I would be on both personally and professionally and the impact Berkadia would have on my life and my family’s life.
Professionally, I thought when I started here, this was going to be a short stop and a steppingstone to the next spot in my career. Little did I know that Berkadia is still my home, going strong for over a decade. Berkadia has provided me with the opportunity to gain experience in my career, having multiple roles leading up to my current role.
Personally, Berkadia has taught me through the Berkadia Way how to treat people as people and to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges to help us work towards collective outcomes. Much of what I have learned through the Berkadia Way has helped me as a professional and as a husband, dad, coach, and person.
Is there anything else our audience should know about you or your time at Berkadia?
Over the past decade at Berkadia, I have navigated both high points and challenges, each contributing to my growth and understanding of the industry. Through it all, one constant remains—the exceptional caliber of the people I work with. Their expertise, dedication, and collaborative spirit truly set them apart as the best in the industry, making every experience rewarding and inspiring.
