Fernando Garcia-Chacon serves as a Managing Director for Berkadia Hotels & Hospitality Investment Sales and is based in Miami, FL, with a focus in South Florida, the Caribbean, and Latin America. An accomplished commercial real estate and hotel executive for more than 30 years, Mr. Garcia-Chacon brings deep hospitality industry experience in addition to a strategic perspective to transactions and consulting engagements. His experience includes advising on over $10 billion of hospitality transactions involving large, complex international property portfolios as well as operating platforms throughout the region. He has become an expert in the all-inclusive space, witnessing how this segment has evolved across the Caribbean and Mexico and in the process, attracting the attention of global hotel companies and institutional investors.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Mr. Garcia-Chacon worked with CBRE Hotels and with JLL’s Hotel & Hospitality Group. Mr. Garcia-Chacon was also Development Director for Yum! Restaurants International (KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell) for Latin America. His clients included international hotel companies, institutional investors, public sector entities, as well as private equity funds and family offices.
Mr. Garcia-Chacon earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston College and holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a Finance focus from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Mr. Garcia-Chacon is proficient in both written and spoken Spanish. He is a regular speaker at various industry conferences and symposia, including ULI, CHRIS and HOLA.
