Melissa Smith is a Managing Director on the Investor Relations Team for Berkadia Affordable Housing, where she serves as a relationship manager for Berkadia’s proprietary tax credit fund investors and plays an active role in capital raising efforts. With more than 25 years of experience in the LIHTC industry, Melissa brings deep market knowledge and a thoughtful, relationship-driven approach to her work.
Before joining Berkadia, Melissa spent 15 years with Wells Fargo’s Community Lending and Investment Group as a Senior Vice President where she managed key client relationships, negotiated complex transactions, and led the substantive review and coordination of transaction documentation. Earlier in her career, she served as Deputy General Counsel at Boston Financial (MMA Financial) and as Senior Counsel in Holland & Knight’s Affordable Housing Practice Group, where she advised clients on a broad range of affordable housing and tax credit matters.
Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
