Paul Hanafin is a Managing Director for Berkadia DC Metro Investment Sales. In this role, he is primarily focused on multifamily value-add, adaptive re-use to residential and development opportunities. In addition, given Paul’s extensive experience with other property types, he is also transacting office, retail, and industrial property sales.
Paul specializes in commercial property investment sales, acquisitions, and development. He has been involved in over $5 billion in transactions involving several hundred real estate transactions including sales and acquisitions of development sites, multi-family properties, office buildings, industrial and retail properties. He has a nuanced and highly detailed command of all aspects of the metropolitan Washington real estate market, is an expert negotiator, and excels at complex and structured transactions.
Paul completed undergraduate and graduate degrees and studies at the University of San Diego, Oxford University and Georgetown University. Prior to his real estate career, Paul served on a Congressional staff followed by nearly 10 years in foreign intelligence specializing in the Middle East and counterterrorism operations.
