Steven Giovangelo is a Senior Director – Acquisitions with Berkadia Affordable Housing in Boston, specializing in originating equity solutions for affordable housing clients across the Northeast. In this role, Steven provides strategic guidance and capital solutions to developers, investors, and public-sector partners, leveraging his deep experience in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) equity and multifamily finance.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Steven was Director of Originations at Walker & Dunlop Affordable Equity, where he established and managed a new territory and oversaw a diverse portfolio of affordable housing equity investments. Earlier, he held originations roles at PNC Bank, supporting developers with integrated LIHTC equity and debt solutions across the Southeast, and worked at TAG Associates and Berkeley Point Capital, where he gained extensive experience in underwriting, portfolio management, and advisory services for public and private sector clients. Over his career, Steven has contributed to the successful execution of nearly $1 billion in multifamily transactions.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics-Finance with a concentration in Law and Real Estate from Bentley University and completed a study abroad program at Copenhagen Business School. He is a licensed real estate sales agent and has completed training in multifamily inspection and asset management. Steven remains actively involved in industry events focused on affordable housing and is committed to advancing best practices in the field.
