Steve Ervin leads Berkadia FHA/HUD as well as Berkadia Seniors Housing & Healthcare. He is responsible for the strategy and oversight for Berkadia’s HUD-insured product lines nationwide and managing the overall HUD relationship for Berkadia’s industry-leading HUD/FHA platform. Steve is also responsible for strategy and oversight for all Berkadia Seniors Housing and Healthcare lending sources, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD, and managing investment sales. Steve is further responsible for developing other financing sources to complement the Berkadia FHA/HUD and Seniors Housing.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Steve ran the HUD group for Walker & Dunlop after its purchase of Column Guaranteed where he started Column’s HUD shop. He successfully built that group from the ground up to financing over $1B in HUD loans. He held many positions in leadership of several HUD associations including the HUD Eastern Lenders Association, MBA’s Multifamily Steering Committee and the Committee on Healthcare Finance. Before joining Column, he was Deputy Chief Underwriter for Love Funding, responsible for oversight of all underwriting operations. Steve’s career has encompassed over 30 years of HUD finance experience in various roles as a contractor to HUD, a consultant, an underwriter and a banker working on multifamily and healthcare transactions throughout.
