Ed Kim is a Managing Director in the Irvine, CA office. He has been a commercial real estate finance professional since 1997, specializing in the origination and placement of debt and structured finance transactions for all property types throughout the U.S. Throughout his career, he has leveraged his prior lending experience to provide creative financing structures and capital placements for his clients. He is also highly active in the construction finance space, with extensive expertise in multifamily projects. Ed has participated in originating, underwriting, and closing over $4 billion in transactions.
Before joining Berkadia in June of 2011, Ed was a principal at Verona Capital Markets, a Los Angeles based real estate investment banking company specializing in debt and equity placement. Prior to Verona, he was a Vice President at Amherst Real Estate Capital, Inc., where he focused on debt and equity placements. Ed began his real estate career at Credit Suisse, a Wall Street lender, where he was responsible for underwriting and closing fixed and floating rate structured real estate debt secured by commercial properties.
