Matt Byrd is a Vice President with Berkadia Affordable Mortgage Banking, based in Dallas, TX. Mr. Byrd is a member of the Berkadia Affordable Housing deal management platform specializing in structuring and underwriting affordable transactions for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA. Mr. Byrd works directly with the Dallas Affordable Mortgage Banking platform as well as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to generate new affordable housing business. Since joining Berkadia in December 2020, Mr. Byrd has been involved in the closing of $3.7 billion in loans.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Mr. Byrd worked in a similar capacity for JLL and Oak Grove where he assisted in closing more than $8 billion in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA loans. His career began on the Fannie Mae underwriting side as an Analyst with Red Mortgage Capital and as a Vice President – Senior Underwriter for Dougherty Mortgage.
Matt Byrd graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
